Weird volume control playing specific WAV file

Bug Description

When I attempt to playback this particular WAV file (either on disk, or streaming), the volume control goes completely wrong. If it is at 100% it is fine however anything less (excluding 0% which mutes fine) makes the music distort and makes it louder. The WAV file is here: http://www.mjq.net/fiveo/50theme.wav and I have tested this on Amarok and Kaffeine with the same results, however MPlayer and VLC play the file fine. Also hovering over the file in Konqueror for an audio preview (presumably because it is playing at 100% volume).

Thanks,

It also appears to make the analyser in Amarok go crazy too.

It seems this bug is a duplicate of bug #102426 (Garbled sound in totem-xine when playing Linear PCM audio)
