Bug Description

I got this issue once a day or so when I close the lid of my laptop to suspend, and when I try to wake it up I get a blank screen where often the only thing that shows up is the mouse cursor. I can't use the mouse nor keyboard, and I can't access virtual consoles (ctrl+alt+f1). I'm forced to shutdown the machine by pressing and holding the machine's power button.

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.6 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I actually started testing the latest v4.6 for another issue I was having with screen flickers after trying to test 4.5.2. So far it seems to be working, but I will have to continue testing since this issue happens daily but at random times.
