Bug Description

 Dell Inc. Venue 8 Pro 5855 is unit who is not full supported by Ubuntu 16.04 (Xenial Xerus)

Kernel issues what found:

[drm:intel_dsi_init [i915]] *ERROR* Failed to own gpio for panel control
[drm:pwm_setup_backlight [i915]] *ERROR* Failed to own the pwm chip
attached crtc is active, but connector isn't

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.6 kernel[0].
