Bug Description

Trying to build Viking 1.6.2 from source as a previous version does not run in Ubuntu 16.04. I read:

¨viking: error while loading shared libraries: libgps.so.20: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory¨

On running configure I get: ¨configure: error: mapnik/map.hpp is needed but not found - you will need to install package 'libmapnik-dev' or similar. The feature can be disabled with --disable-mapnik¨

On trying to install libmapnik-dev using Synaptic the process failed with:

¨E: /var/cache/apt/archives/libmapnik-dev_3.0.9+ds-1_amd64.deb: trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/mapnik-config', which is also in package libmapnik 2.3.0+dev20140426.git.a4985b3-1~trusty1¨

Solved by removing libmapnik. Configured and installed without problem subsequently.

libmapnik 2.3.0+dev20140426.git.a4985b3-1~trusty1 is not from the official repositories, so this kind of upgrade issue is expected.
