Firefox closes any time I type into a field.

I'm guessing on the package type. However, I have the latest release of Ubuntu 7.10 and Firefox. I'm having to use my XP machine to report this bug, because the Bug I have in Firefox won't let me write in the browser.

Any time in Firefox that I open a free form text field (like composing an email, typing a bug report like this one, or writing in a forum) Firefox abruptly closes the moment I start typing.

THIS IS VERY ANOYING and has basically made my Ubuntu machine useless.

I had similar problem few weeks back..but re-installation of firefox worked and now i don't have any problem. I guess you must be using firefox2.0.0.6 since its default with gutsy Ubuntu 7.10.

I have the same problem and my computer change at white and black, then blocked, and after restarting Ubuntu 7.10 I have no more any son. When it had blocked i had listen to music whit rhythmbox.

start firefox in safe-mode from terminal like:

firefox -safe-mode

and uninstall any dictionary extension you have installed.
