Bug Description
Tried to upgrade from 14.04.4 LTS to 16.04. (Date: 21.04.2016)
upgrading via 'do-release-upgrade -d' failed and ended with the following message:

Hash-Summe stimmt nicht überein
, E:Einige Indexdateien konnten nicht heruntergeladen werden. Sie
wurden ignoriert oder alte an ihrer Stelle benutzt. "
(translation (kinda :) ))

hash sum mismatch,
E: Some index files failed to download. They have been ignored, or old ones used instead."
This error was also discovered with the dash-upgrader
