MediaPlayer.play() is a blocking call

Whenever I play a local track file, for a small interval my app UI is blocked. this blockage is probably something between 300-600ms.

I would expect play() call to be super smooth. Need help to debug whats causing that.

What is your application and what are you trying to do? Can you give me some more specific info?

FWIW, the default music player app is also affected.
