Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

original installed system was 7.10 beta; all possible update are installed; adept want to update and than upgrade to 7.10; adept work a little bit (till update to new library) and stop with the error message "System is up to date, no upgrade possible; work stopped" (original german message: "Ihr System ist auf dem aktuellen Stand. Es sind keine Aktualisierungen für das System verfügbar. Der Vorgang wird nun beendet. [Bug Report] [Close] ).
version check should happen on an earlier prozess stage and the process should terminate with a message like "no upgrade needed" and not with an error message and [bug report] ...

Same problem...
 I freshly installed Kubuntu 7.10 from "Desktop CD" (downloaded from "http://ftp.linux.edu.lv/pub/ubuntu/kubuntu/gutsy/" and burned). After install i configured system, installed additional packages without problems.
 Finally i let to Adept to update some packages (i remember in update list i see some "adept*" packages) and i got same problem as described above.

I got 20 emails today on this stupid bug that I thought was resolved by
the latest Adept update, and ad nauseum emails other days. Give me a break!
