Bug Description

Well I have an Asus M2400 with sis650 graphic card. No problem with Ubuntu Feisty, many with Gutsy Gibbon. When I start it, the computer is so slow and the cpu reaches 100% doing simple things too (highlighting folders for example). No problem if I use Gutsy Gibbon with the last Feisty kernel. It seems the processor whistles and the green light (the light that displays the processor's activity) continues to flash. No problem if I start gutsy gibbon in safe graphic mode.
Thank 4 ur help
Here is a person had the same problem

I have an Asus M2 with sis650 graphic card. I updated feisty to gutsy gibbon and now when i boot the computer, after the beginning of session, the cpu fan is on, and it never stops. When the session starts the computer is very slow. The system monitor points out that cpu keeps eating 100% even if i do nothing, but the cpu doesn't heat up. I tried to install xubuntu gutsy and i had the same problem. Thanks to all developers

Hi Fede, I have the same problem, the fan one too. There's a simple workaround to "solve" this problem.
acpi=off but its dangerous
