Bug Description

Binary package hint: mozilla-thunderbird

I upgraded Thunderbird to v2.0.0.8 via update manager on 24/10/07 and now the following bugs have appeared:

1) None of the menu bar items are functioning
2) The 'Get Mail' and 'Write' buttons are not functioning - no mail is got and no write dialog appears when they are clicked
3) The following message appears in a new window when the 'Address Book' button is clicked:

XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
Location: chrome://messenger/content/addressbook/addressbook.xul
Line Number 1, Column 1:;
^

4) The following message appears when I try to open an individual message (by double-clicking on it in the message window):

XML Parsing Error: not well-formed
Location: chrome://messenger/content/messageWindow.xul
Line Number 1, Column 3:rd"/>
--^

Prior to the update yesterday(24/10) Thunderbird worked without any errors (that I noticed) since I upgraded to 7.10

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
