tex live instalation crashes - dependency problem

Bug Description

Binary package hint: texlive-base

During instalation I get the information that there is a dependency problem. It fail during fmtutil-sys.

And it tells you to send a file, something like
 /tmp/fmtutil.XXXXXX
Please do this, or we cannot do anything.

contains "modes.mf" missing. Another instance of the same bug.

You purged tetex-base/bin some time ago which removed modes.mf.

dpkg -i --force-conf-missing ..../texlive-base_2007-13_all.deb

or whatever your version of texlive-base is. Needs to be at least -11.

But can be closed. Is well known, hundreds of times reported. Fixed as
far as possible in the current packages.
