screen artifacts when playing runescape (java client)

I get screen artifacts in the game Runescape, when playing on Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial Xerus, this happened right after the update to mesa 1.2.0-1ubuntu1 so it's a regression in this version of mesa.

Glad you updated though, but since this is a dot-zero release it needs to be patched with fixes from git until they officially release another bugfix release.

Bug is not reported upstream AFAIK.

Installed mesa git from 2016-04-14, regression is still present, so patching won't fix this particular issue, at least for now. Hardware is Intel Ivy Bridge btw.

The used Ubuntu version (16.04) is obsolete, also mesa was updated (from 1.2.0-1ubuntu1 (?) to 18.0.5-0ubuntu0~16.04.1 in 2018), can you check if the problem is still reproducible with the newer mesa or on a newer Ubuntu?
