Bug Description

Hi guys. My ubuntu always crashes after rearranging my monitors on configurations screen.
I don't know if it is already reported, and can't check now since I'm on Lynx filing this problem.
If I use my monitors without rearranging them no problem happen, but if I change screen positions X stops to start AFTER REBOOT.

Do you know how to reset monitors positions just to start X properly? this would be a nice workaround at least.

If you need any further detail, please let me know.

Hi again.

I've just received the kernel version 4.2.0-35 from apt-get upgrade but the problem still occurs.

Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest v4.6 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag: 'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as "Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.

I'll try at the end of the day and get back with a status.

One more detail: I switched the external display and the x get back to work. I returned my monitor then.
If a reboot happen or I have to open System Configurations, everything crashes again .

Is there any kind of Configs Cache that I should clean to stop this problem for while?!
