Intermittent audio, sound breaking up

OTA-9 BQ E4.5 - Podbird

Symptons:

Audio playback becomes stuttered and intermittent.

Background:

Initially I thought this was related to just one show ( Linux Unplugged ) and only seemed to happen on certain episodes. However what I have discovered is that is seems to be related to the change over between podcast episodes.

Usually ( but not always, sorry ) this occurs when one episode of a podcast has finished playing, and Podbird then moves to playing another podcast episode.

I also noticed yesterday, that as I was having this problem, I stopped playback, and clicked on a different podcast episode, and although the screen showed the newly selected podcast as playing, it was actually the previous one playing back ! Almost as though the visible playlist model, and the playback model had somehow become out of sync. A phone restart cleared this problem.

You guys are doing a great job on Podbird, it is one of the best apps on UbuntuPhone. I realise there are lots of issues, and challenges. I have moved from the mainline branch, and am now using the podbird-devel branch, so hopefully I can provide more useful, timely feedback

Thanks a *lot* for taking the time and effort to report this bug in a very detailed way. I hope you are still using Podbird (stable or devel). Can you please reconfirm if you are still facing this issue? I would appreciate that a lot. Playlist support landed few months back (after which we were occupied with life), so there could very well be an issue with that feature.

I experience this too.
Device: Bacon (OnePlus One)
Channel: ubports/15.04/devel
Build: r188
Podbird: 0.8

Steps to repeat:
1. Download some episodes
2. Add episodes to playlist
3. Play an episode and let it roll over while the screen is asleep
4. Audio stutters
5. Wake up screen, and audio plays normally.
6. Press the "play" button from the quick settings menu to remedy the problem.
