Bug Description
At least when the cursor is away from the panel.
1. Click inside the Layers panel.
2. Move the cursor to the canvas. (without clicking)
3. Type a single-key shortcut such as "s" or "n" to trigger selection mode or node mode.
Expected: I expect the keyboard shortcuts to work as normal.
Result: Instead all keystrokes are captured by the layers panel search function.
What may have seemed like a good idea is, at least for me, an annoyance and a tedium breaking the flow of work. I often for example select some object, then rename or move a layer and then go on to work further on the same selection.

I suggest simply disabling the search or at least provide some separate button or shortcut to trigger the search.
Furthermore, in my experience, it is never needed but still triggered literally 10 times a day.
I hope this can be remedied :)
Thanks
