Bug Description

On my Meizu MX4 pro and on my Aquarius 4.5 i used your superb App for some weeks without any Problems (Thank you very much for that).
Since last Wednesday the App chrashes as soon as i open a Chat.
I can see the Content for ca. 2 Seconds: then the App crashes and is gone.
If is cut all Internetconnection (like using Flightmode) i can open the Chats an scroll as long as i like trough the Treads.
Connecting the Internet again will immediatel crash the App.
Behavior ist the Same on both Devices.
Now and then the app fetches new Messages in Background.
I get a notification, but can view the content only if i diskonnect the Internet.

I will happily provide additional Information (e.g. logfiles) if you tell me where they are located on the Phone.
I know my way around on the commandline: so i wont have any trouble extracting the files, when i know which and where.

App Version is 2.0.8.2 on both devices.
It was not a Telegram update that brought this Behavior.
I use Chatgroups, normal chates and crypted chats.

Sincearly

Hello,

after a view Days the PRoblem went away on ma BQ 4,5.
On the Maizu there came the OTA update of Ubuntu Phone.
I did it: it did not help.
Then i uninstalled Telegram on my Meizu, rebootet and installed it again: this did not help immidiately.
Two additional Days later Telegram worked again on the Meizu as well.

I dont exactly know what happend.
There was no update from Telegram in the mean time.

Anyway: now its working again.

Hello,
one week later it showed again the same symptoms: chrashing immediattely after i touched "Open Chat".

No messageallerts showed up in Toolbar.
Telegram was, again, ununsable.
This went on for one week.
In the meantime it rebootet the Phone, i uninstalled Telegram and installed it again: all to no effect.
After about one week, it suddenly worked again.

Please: messaging is about reliabilaty: other People rely on the me getting their messages: right now it is not a stable situation..
I tried to find out what is causing these crashes, but found no patern. Its not depending on Mediafiles or encrypted Messages ..

Show me a way to investigate: which logfiles might be of interest: Can i launch telegram in a more verbose mode?

Holger

I have the same problem; I took a photo to be sent from Telegram and from that moment Telegram crashes every time I try to open it.

I've uninstalled and installed it several times, removed its cache (rm -rf .cache/com.ubuntu.telegram), rebooted the phone before and after each step, and still nothing.

However, if I activate the flight mode again I can open Telegram and see the chats but I can't either send nor receive any message and inmediatly after connecting to Internet (mobile or wifi) it crashes.

Is there anything I can do to keep on using Telegram?

Thanks.

Update:

I'm being notified of new messages, so communication with server is not lost. However, as I click the notification icon to enter the chat and see it, Telegram crashes.

I'm wondering if it could be possible that Telegram, even when I've reinstalled it several times (I'm thinking it doesn't delete all of its files), might have cached the photo that apparently caused the problem when I tried to send it and every time I open Telegram it tries to send it and crashes.

Is there any "files to be send" directory I could delete to check whether it solves the problem?
