Please see the attached screenshot. Not sure if this is primarily caused by the website or the app.

I’m seeing the issue on my device too.
I’m attaching the cached icon that’s being downloaded (64×64 pixels), it appears to be faulty?

The corresponding entry in the history database has https://duckduckgo.com/favicon.ico as a favicon, which displays fine when opened in the browser. The corruption probably happens when downloading the file to cache it.
