Bug Description

I'm just translating the tutorial into Polish:

https://translations.launchpad.net/ubuntu-rtm/15.04/+source/unity8/+pots/unity8/pl/+translate?memo=0&show=untranslated

and found the reason why thousands of people will be highly disappointed which or writing poemas as I did here:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-ux/+bug/1560143

The problematic are two strings:

99."Swipe from the top right edge to open the notification bar"
and
100."Swipe from the top edge to open the notification bar"

Going this way user get an experience that one should make 5 steps to change the brightness, turn on/off flight mode of Wi-Fi/Hotspot as I described in a bug in a link above. BUT ONLY TWO STEPS ARE REQUIRED!!! And a tutorial should show it right at the start! This is also the way I'm gonna translate the string for Polish users.

Solution?

100. ~"Put Your finger on the wanted icon in a notification bar and swipe it down to open the proper menu"

Otherwise if the user doesn't know that putting finger on the right icon opens the proper menu of the notification area, one pots a finger at the top, swipes it down and a random menu will be open. It is not a joke! I don't think I'm an idiot and didn't know it for a year till someone explained it to me as I raised the bug above.

All in all user should be informed in this two strings that it makes a difference where he/she puts a finger on the "top edge" before swiping it down.

ps

it is a topic for another bug but the the icons in the notification area shouldn't be stuck to one another as we know it from the GNOME 2.x times. I think the icons should be justified on the whole length of the upper edge so that the user could put the finger on the correct icon and evoke the wanted menu.
