Bug Description

Binary package hint: thunderbird

I just (Oct 23, 2007) ran an update on my box "System > Administration > Update Manager". One of the packages that needed upgrade was thunderbird 2.0.0.6 --> 2.0.0.8. After completion I still see that thunderbird is at ver. 2.0.0.6 by going "Help > About Mozilla Thunderbird" from the client. To double check I ran from the console --> $ thunderbird --version
Thunderbird 2.0.0.6, Copyright (c) 1998-2007 mozilla.org

It looks like the package didn't get upgraded after all.
I believe that this update was tagged as "Security Update".

I see the same thing. I think Thunderbird upstream just forgot to flip the in-source version forward. :P

2.0.0.8 is not yet officially out ... the code base is almost identical to what will be 2.0.0.8 though.
