Current Debian version depends on update-inetd
- Add openbsd-inetd | inet-superserver to amanda-server dependencies
Current Debian version depends on amanda-common, which depends on openbsd-inetd | inet-superserver
- Update maintainer field in debian/control
No longer required in sync process

I see that the last Ubuntu added the following dependencies (re. bug #46014):
update-inetd in amanda-common
openbsd-inetd | inet-superserver in amanda-server
while the last Debian :
substitute netbase for update-inetd in amanda-common
adds openbsd-inetd | inet-superserver in amanda-common
Since amanda-server depends on amanda-common I agree with you that this is a simple sync.
