USB Stick will not boot (xenial Mythbuntu)

Bug Description
I used "Startup Disk Creator" to copy the mythbuntu desktop amd64 to a USB stick (8GB). Booting off this gives the following error:
SYSLINUX 6.03 EDD 20150813 copyright (C) 1994-2014 H Peter Anvin et al
Boot error
Wait a few minutes, nothing happens.
Pressing either Tab or Enter results in the system booting off the hard drive into Ubuntu 12.04.

Note - I have another identical USB stick with Xubuntu wily AMD64 created teh same way, and that boots the same machine without problem.
