Bug Description

Using Ubuntu 12.04 on our local high memory computer and byobu no longer opens new windows when pressing F2. The other F-keys retain their functionality though. I'm using byobu 5.104 and tmux 1.6.

Same on Ubuntu 14.04. Neither F2, nor C-a c (or C-b c) work. What works is C-a : and then entering "new-window" in the command prompt. Obviously this is not a real alternative or workaround.

$ byobu --version
byobu version 5.104
tmux 1.6

For now I found a work-around. By using byobu-screen to run the program I now have F2 function back.

I suspect that "new" byobu is not compatible with "old" tmux. I've just pushed two new builds of tmux into the Byobu PPA (where, presumably you've gotten byobu 5.104?), for trusty and precise. Hopefully they'll build okay ;-)

Changed in byobu:
importance: Undecided → Medium
status: New → In Progress

Dustin, I can confirm that Byobu 5.105 works well with tmux 2.1 on both precise and trusty!
