move to new XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP breaks many apps

Bug Description

Recently I've moved to Xenial (with gnome-flashback as DE) and ever since I am fixing applications (mainly their indicators are failing.

Same applications are ok on Unity.

I blame new XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=GNOME-Flashback:Unity.
In most cases just running app with Unity XDG_CURRENT_DESKTOP=Unity <app> fixes the problem.

Among affected apps are:
dropbox
syncthing-gtk
x2go
python-xdg (and all it's dependents)
There are probably more...

Add applications to Affects list, report bugs to upstream projects.

It is not a bug in GNOME Flashback.
