Bug Description
Last night I attempted the update version option from within adept-manager. Near the beginning of the install (approx 2% done) I got some issues where the X11 packages could not be installed. I didn't write down the specifics(oops). I tried a couple of time but each time I got the same error message. Now about my system, it has a nvidia gforce video card and I had the glx drivers installed from a non open source repository. After the version update failed I rebooted the system(bad move!) now it boots to a terminal and I can't start X!!! Thought you guys should know that there are some issues with the update procedure.

Was bug #147429 your error? (could not install debconf)
I remember the X11-common package was the one that could not be installed after which the installer did not progress further.
