Binary package hint: cups-pdf
1.
/etc/cups/
change
Out ${HOME}/PDF
to
Out ${HOME}/Desktop
2.
print something to pdf printer
->
nothing is printed
3.
/etc/cups/
change back
Out ${HOME}/Desktop
to
Out ${HOME}/PDF
4.
print something to pdf printer
->
output is printed to ${HOME}/PDF
5.
/etc/cups/
change
Out ${HOME}/PDF
to
Out ${HOME}/PDF2

print something to pdf printer
->
nothing is printed
conclusion:
Out ${HOME}/PDF
has not the effect of setting the output path.
