Can you reproduce this all the time?
Or just happened once?
How much time passed between you pressing the hardware button and the screen waking itself up?

Note: could this bug as same trigger than this bug #1556847 : the phone think the arale's home button is still holded ?

Ok, I've just reproduced it, not sure yet how, but bug #1556847 was here at the same time as presumed on comment #2
spaming home button fixed the issue without rebooting.

I can reproduce a variant of this by holding my finger over the bottom LED button and simultaneously pressing the hardware power button.

Screen will wake up by itself with each press of power button, until bottom LED is activated again.
