Bug Description
Speaker output appears to be broken on the Asus Eee PC 1011PX.
Audio is working, as headphone output is fine. But there is no output whatsoever through the built-in audio analogue stereo. Sound test is silent, using both Stereo Duplex and Stereo Output device profiles.
Update:
Issue is resolved by running AlsaMixer in terminal and un-muting 'Headphones'. The default setting of mute (MM) for headphones in AlsaMixer appears to mute built-in speakers even when "Speaker", "Master" and "PCM" are unmuted and set to 100% volume.
This issue also appears to affect other Ubuntu based distributions (see threads on Ubuntu forum). I'll leave this recorded here in case you might want to consider a "fix" to ensure Headphones are unmuted after initial install of Ubuntu Mate, for the benefit of newcomers to Linux who may be less inclined to troubleshoot and/or use the CLI.
