Bug Description

Binary package hint: kdebase

Not sure when this changed, but in the last couple of weeks since I last logged into one of my websites via ftp (using a link in Network Folders), the long-ish login name has been truncated. I originally thought this was just for display, but after getting login errors at the ftp server, i opened the entry in Kate, and say the login was shortened as shown below.

from
*******_********
to
******...******
I have deleted the entry in Dolphin, and attempted to recreate it, but whether I save the entry or not, it always truncates the login name. And I am unable to save the entry from Kate as it is not possible to write to /remote.

I don't know if it is relevant, but this also ends up trying to open in Konqueror, at least for the error message. All my other network folder entries work as expected.

Thanks for reporting this issue and helping to make Kubuntu better.

I believe the problem has the same cause as Bug # 153964. Therefore I set this one as duplicate to the other one.
