Bug Description

Binary package hint: dolphin

if there is a directory that contains space in the name (for example 'New Folder'), and I open this directory by 'open as root' option (in Dolphin), Dolphin will open 2 directory: a directory named 'New' and another named 'Folder', and than alert me that these directorys doesn't exists.

(I have just installed Kubuntu Gutsy)

How to reproduce the bug:
1- open Dolphin
2- create a new directory that contains space in the name (for example 'New Folder')
3- use the 'open as root' option

I noticed this error too. It's a quoting issue. I figured out the attached patch, which fixes it for me.

I found another error/bug....don't know it is related to this or not:

if directory name contains space and symbol "&" (for example: New & Old), opening this directory by 'open as root' will pop up an error message showing "command not found!"

Yes, the cause is the same. KDE SU is apparently interpreting & as the
"background process" symbol.

Thank you for reporting this bug. I am marking it as a duplicate of bug 163417 because that bug describes the problem in detail. As far as I can tell, this is an issue in Kdesudo, the kdesu replacement in Gutsy.
