Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

After new install of 7.10 (/home on separate partition, / formatted), update-manager reports update available for time change, then reports distro upgrade to 7.10 available. After running the upgrade, fails trying to find packages. seems it shouldn't report an distribution upgrade available 20 minutes after installing that dist. (it's my first bug report - be gentle)

I have the same behavior, both from a fresh install from dvd/cd and when upgrading from feisty->gutsy (using Kubuntu and adept for the upgrade process).

I had the same thing happen after a clean install of Kubuntu 7.10. My first bug report as well.

Yeah, same here. Came from a clean Kubuntu install, and then popped up "New Distribution version available!"

Yup, Clean install day after release, then prompted to upgrade to Gutsy tonight from Kubuntu.

Somewhat related, probably: after a manual apt-get dist-upgrade, apt_manager still reports a version upgrade is available.
When continuing, the apt_manager then aborts after the "Modifying the software channels" with the message "Your system is up-to-date"...

running on vmware...

this version had more glaringly obvious bugs than any other kubuntu version, so I thought I had downloaded an alpha... nope! I'm fully upgraded...

(Still this version feels blazingly fast and has some other really cool features... just can't use it until screen resolution can change)
