Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

I updated from Feisty to Gutsy successfully. But Adept still indicates a distribution update is available. The dist update tool then starts up, downloads the upgrade guidance, indicates endof support of old packages, but then stops as it discovers my system is uptodate.

I had the same thing after a fresh install of the system. It says there is a new version available goes through the motions of upgrading, then says that there are no files to upgrade - upgrade cancelled.

I've the same problem.
Moreover I had to finish the upgrade with apt-get dist-upgrade because the automatic-graphical tool crashed at the end of the downloading complaining with debconf and x11-common packages.

The same

I upgraded form feisty to gutsy (kubuntu) the day it was released and today (2 days after) adept attempted to upgrade my distro again.

After initiated the process adept crashed and a text message appeared with something like your system is updated there is no updates available... report bug... close

Hi Folks,

I've upgraded kubuntu from Feisty to Gutsy yesterday and encountered the same problem with adept as it was depicted here.

Additionally upgrading process crashed somethere in the middle leaving me in console, X and KDE didn't start due to incompability in NVIDIA restructed module version - it was necessary to run manually

sudo apt-get install aptitude

to finish the upgrading.

However now all works just fine, especially thanks to new looking nice true type fonts.

The only problem is with adept: it crashed several times (removing /var/lib/apt/lists helped) and proposes to upgrade to new version.

Thanks,

I installed Gutsy from scratch (because the update crashed), but I still get the same error.

Me too. I dist-upgraded to Gutsy when it was still in Beta, for what that's worth.
