<Laney> why would a dictionary need MIR?

up to now every package needs a MIR

<Laney> doko: I would just subscribe the desktop team and promote it, or do you really care for some data files?

we try to avoid pre-promotions, the team is now subscribed.

This is a data package only, looks good. used to build the aspell and myspell spellcheckers.
