ubuntu 7.04 7.10 upgrade hang

Binary package hint: update-manager

I have tried to upgrade Ubuntu 7.04 to 7.10. The upgrade process stopped right after the window informing about packages, which are no longer supported. Second attemp suggested to perfom partial upgrade, but it stopped too. By stopping I mean the window has stopped responding.
