Bug Description
During the install, at 83%, if the repos can not be accessed (Lack of network, ISP issues, etc) the install disables the security updates from ever happening. It comments it out of sources.list.
This is easy to fix for someone who knows what it means but is very hard on new users. Also if the user forgets or if someone else set up the machine, they may never turn it back on. Thus this has the potential to create a large number of vulnerable Ubuntu machines.
A suggested fix would be to have the system try to re-enable the security repos in the sources.list as soon as a new network connection is detected. Or put a icon on the notification bar that can be clicked to turn the updates back on.
This is with Gutsy 7.10 Final.
