Volume applet slider is sometimes unusable

Bug Description

Sometimes, when I click on the volume applet, the slider appears but is slightly shifted to the right. It is then impossible to use it, because it slides down automatically wherever I click on it. It seems that switching to another workspace temporarily fixes that issue.

Does this happen when you are using compiz/beryl ?

Yes, I forgot to mention that but I guess that this is caused by the desktop effects (and thus Compiz).

The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Hardy Heron. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the actively developed release. You can find out more about the development release at [WWW] http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.

Could you also attach a screenshot if you can still reproduce the problem?

We're closing this bug since it is has been some time with no response from the original reporter. However, if the issue still exists please feel free to reopen with the requested information. Also, if you could, please test against the latest development version of Ubuntu, since this confirms the bug is one we may be able to pass upstream for help.

I like Ubuntu's way to fix bugs: Just wait a few releases until the bug is automagically fixed upstream. Anyway...
