Bug Description
Binary package hint: file-roller
Step #1: Create a link to an FTP site using: Main menu > Places > Connect to server, Or get a Disk visible on the Desktop
Step #2: Make sure the link (or disk) is on the Desktop
Step #3: Right Click the link (or disk) and select "create archive"
Step #4: Then a warning dialog pops and says "The folder contents could not be displayed" and "VFS error: Invalid parameters"
I understand that this is more of an astetic thing, but think of situations where people are selecting a bunch of files in a group. They will get some error that does not tell them where the problem is, or the source folder.
Something like: "Cannot compress symlink 'ftp.bah.org' because it is a link to a website" would be a good start.
Hopefully you can get a good enough error from VFS to determine the problem.
