Bug Description

mintMenu uses the logo from the Gnome theme. When users pull out themes from gnome-look.org this usually makes mintMenu use the Ubuntu logo..

I think this is not a bug. Menus like this are exactly the reason why themes provide that logo. If you don't like it, just change it in the theme.

I strongly suggest to keep using the distributor logo at least by default (with a possibility to return to it any time in case this is made configuratble.).

Clement, is it still possible to use the distributor logo by default?

Not by default because we want the LM logo to be there by default no matter what icon theme is chosen by the user, and also because we want the user to be able to choose a custom logo for the menu. But there's nothing stopping a user from creating a link to the default distributor-logo and using that for mintMenu.

I think this is very shortsighted decision. Like I said in comment #1, distributor logo is meant to be displayed in menus like mintmenu. That's why themes provide it. And if a theme provides Ubuntu logo and you don't like it, just replace it in that theme. That is how it should be done IMO.

Most themes provide an Ubuntu logo. Most people using these themes are after the icons they provide, not the Ubuntu logo. For people who do want to get the logo, it's easy to change it as well.

Let's agree to disagree, there's no need to say something is shortsighted just because you don't agree with it.

Clement, if there is a way to choose the default logo, please tell how. What I mean is that it changes with the theme, not something that I have to manually edit every time I change themes. (Could you imagine if ALL icons worked this way?)
