Bug Description

the application will not start on my gutsy amd64 system, neither the gstreamer not the xine version.
I guess it has something to do with pulseaudio.

Output:
Using /usr/share/games/ultrastar-ng//songs as default songs directory
ultrastarng: pcm_params.c:2351: sndrv_pcm_hw_params: Assertion `err >= 0' failed.
Aborted (core dumped)

I too couldn't get the 0.1.4. version to run on my system but there's a new(er) ultrastar-ng version, 0.2.1, that compiles fine on my gutsy amd64 system. Tried to make a .deb but failed (first time trying). Maybe someone with more experience in building debian packages could do it?

I have kubuntu hardy amd64, and I also have problems with gstreamer. I cannot play the song, and when using the cursors or the enter in the singing screen, it crashes. The output is attached

Marking as fixed because in current version (now known as performous) all audio code is rewritten. Please reopen if the problem persists.
