mouse cursor disappears after testing resolution with nv driver

Bug Description

When I run displayconfig-gtk, about a third of the time when switching resolutions and clicking the Test button, the mouse cursor will not be visible on the screen with the OK/Cancel that pops up to test. If I hit cancel to go back to the old resolution, the mouse cursor will still be gone. No matter what I do, logout, etc I can't get the cursor to come back, I have to reboot.

This happens while using the "nv" driver.

Thanks,
EDG

To clarify: the machine still responds to the mouse, it's not losing mouse support completely, just the displaying of the cursor. If I can find a button blindly, you can see it going into a "mouseover" state, and it responds to clicking ,etc.

Thank you for reporting this bug and for your efforts to make
Ubuntu better. As Xorg has improved this past year, an unfortunate side
effect of these improvements is that it has rendered several design
assumptions in displayconfig-gtk obsolete. So, starting with Hardy we
are no longer putting displayconfig-gtk forth as a primary configuration
tool, and are putting our development focus into the Screen Resolution
applet. As a result, we do not plan to fix this bug and thus are closing
it.
