Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

Look at the attached screenshot and you'll notice that the borders of the application switcher behave wrong. This seems to have been introduced with the latest Compiz update.

I absolutely confirm this bug.
I'm on a Acer Aspire 5685WLMI laptop, with Nvidia GeForce Go 7600, Ubuntu Gutsy and Compiz Fusion with Emerald decorator.
Here's my screenshot.

As you can see, the behaviour is that the swicther window is sized to the first window-thumbnail only.

PS: I'm often victim of the Emerald crashing bug too. Emerald sometimes crashes, when I Alt-Tab but maybe in other occasions too.

Does anyone notice this application switcher bug _without_ Emerald? If not, the two bugs could be linked

And I notice this bug #158877 too, in which the application switcher is not correctly centered on the screen.

The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Hardy Heron. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the actively developed release. You can find out more about the development release at [WWW] http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/

Also, do both of you use emerald?

Reopening. I can provide information regarding this bug.

Firstly, I'm using emerald.
Secondly, it only happens with emerald. gtk-window-decorator has no issues with application-switcher.

I can confirm that the bug does occur in Ubuntu 8.10 with the gtk-window-decorator.

I have compiz 0.7.8, X.Org X Server 1.5.2, Intel driver 2.4.1 (intel 915 I believe).
