Bug Description

When I open the default terminal emulator on ubuntu 16.04 (gnome-terminal) the icon blinks and remains with a light from the top of the icon but the terminal doesn't open at all.

I had to install xterm to open this bug report

-------------------------

but the problem seems solved after that I've installed VirtualBox:
------------------------
Start-Date: 2016-01-03 18:53:10
Commandline: apt-get install virtualbox
Install: dkms:amd64 (2.2.0.3-2ubuntu8, automatic), libvncserver1:amd64 (0.9.10+dfsg-3, automatic), virtualbox-qt:amd64 (5.0.12-dfsg-1, automatic), virtualbox-dkms:amd64 (5.0.12-dfsg-1, automatic), virtualbox:amd64 (5.0.12-dfsg-1), libgsoap7:amd64 (2.8.22-1, automatic)
End-Date: 2016-01-03 18:55:00
-----------------------

I don't know if VirtualBox has installed any critical package for gnome-terminal... maybe it was a coincidence?

Marking as invalid as there doesn't seem to be a bug here that needs fixing.
