Bug Description
On a Compaq Presario 2200 laptop - celeron-m, intel i855GM after installation (completelyfresh install), the GUI will become unresponsive. It is possible to open applications during this minute but after it stops working, the mouse continues to move, but doesn't respond to clicks and the keyboard becomes unresponsive. It is impossible to restart x using ctrl-alt-backspace (is this something that has been disabled since edgy (my last ubuntu)). The hard drive is not running.
