Bug Description

Hi.
I just got this bug (was able to grep it from /var/log/syslog after my system stuck and I performed reboot manually).
I am running Ubuntu 14.04 LTS, 3.13.0-67-generic kernel.
All the relevant information (at least I hope so) provided in the attached files.

varnie, as per https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P5B_Deluxe/HelpDesk_Download/ an update to your computer's buggy and outdated BIOS is available (1101). If you update to this following https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything?

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful. As well, you don't have to create a new bug report.

Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible:
1) Please provide the output of the following terminal command (not perform an apport-collect):
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
2) Please make a comment specifically advising on if there was an improvement or not.
3) If the issue is still reproducible, please mark this report Status Confirmed. Otherwise, please mark this as Invalid.

Thanks for the information. I followed your advice and updated BIOS. the command you asked me shows the following:

I cannot say that the issue is still reproducible, everything works okay (fingers crossed). The tricky thing is that the bug occurred only once (with the old BIOS firmware) and I cannot be 100% sure it was related to the BIOS only.

As for the BIOS update I can say that the following 'warning' vanished now and that's good:

Dec 17 21:05:58 heimdal kernel: [ 0.087878] ACPI BIOS Warning (bug): Incorrect checksum in table [SSDT] - 0x60, should be 0x67 (20131115/tbprint-214)

Please give me some time for more testing and I'll write back.
