Bug Description

This program does not support new notification area system. It's not visible on plasma5 (kde).

I have lib notifications packages installed, though is a very common bug on lot of programs (or missing feature i should say).

I can see notifications (Take a a break started / stopped), but no tray icon is visible, I couldn't access to any interface or something for this program.

Not sure if I understand well, can you open the interface?

Well using the .desktop launcher all you have is a notification "Take a a break started"

I don't see anything else.

I supposed there had to a tray icon not visible since it happens often that they're not visible.

Ah, I see. Thanks a lot. As it is, there is no icon the tray, nor in Unity by the way. I can understand you'd like some kind of visual presence, other than the notifications. I'll add it to the wish list. Thanks again for taking the effort!

Well there also must be some kind of interface to actually do something with the program. I could not find any. As using hte .desktop toggles "Take a a break started / stopped".

So its rather no presence at all i should say.

Clicking the icon should start the (settings) interface (I assume it does), in which you can make settings, preferred effect, time settings etc. Once that is done, the background script does its job, and notifies you when the break is "upcoming". That is the intended behaviour. I can imagine you'd like to see some kind of continuous presence in the panel or tray in any form however.
I added it to the "Whishlist". Thanks once again for taking the effort.

Ok i see, but like i said then, clicking on the icon does not show any panel, just notifications like said on previous post.

Could you run from a terminal /opt/takeabreak/takeabreak/takeabreak and tell what is the output? Also: what version are you using? There was an error during one version, it was only on Launchpad for an hour or so, I believe it was 0.5.2 . Removing/reinstalling should fix it if that is your version.

Damn int, i'm very sorry i just saw that i use synapse to run this program, and synapse by default only launch the action on the .desktop

I went to look for a command line and did not find one since it's not in the $PATH, but i did not try to launch it from the native DE menu. Using /opt/takeabreak/takeabreak/takeabreak works and version is 0.5.3

So i was induced in error by synapse, sorry. It's actually working i'll close this bug.
