Alexander Vinbæk Strand, installing an upstream package that addresses the issue does not fit the definition of Fix Released as defined in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Status .

However, if you would like to have this fix land in a supported Ubuntu repository, please answer the question noted in https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1523813/comments/2 and then mark this Status New.

The error message on 15.10 was at first login, but in 16.04 it wasn't a error message.

Alexander Vinbæk Strand, would you need a backport to a release prior to Xenial, or may this be closed as Status Invalid?

I don't think I need a backport driver.
