Bug Description

My employer emails out rosters and paperwork using an automated system based on outlook/exchange, one of the problems is that multiple attachments get rolled into one winmail.dat file that is a pain to use on linux.

there is a free software utility to handle these files called tnef which has been in ubuntu for ages and is developed here: https://github.com/verdammelt/tnef however it would be better if pantheon mail could open these files and present the contents to the user as attachments without going through extra steps/scripts/contracts.

Changed in pantheon-mail:

I came across something similar recently and wanted to add some info. winmail.dat just looks like a simple container format and is expected to not be seen by the user. Using tnef as mentioned works similarly to extracting a file from an archive into the current directory. Mail could theoretically depend on tnef and use it under the hood.

Hey Cass,

Would you be able to provide a dump of the full text of an email with an attached winmail.dat file?
