Bug Description

I just connected the printer, installed hplip and installed the printer drivers with hp-setup. I also checked for missing dependencies with hp-check. These are now all installed.

Most of the printer features work fine, except when trying to print a PDF with evince. (There is no problem printing the same PDF with hp-print, google-chrome or lpr.) This happens even with the simplest PDF files, like the one attached.

I'm running Fedora 22 x86_64, evince 3.16.1, CUPS 2.0.3.

On the CUPS jobs page (localhost:631), I get to see the following:

ID Name User Size Pages State Control
M125a-68 Unknown Withheld 6k Unknown stopped "Filter failed" Reprint Job Cancel Job Move Job

In the HP Device manager, it claims that the "Print job has completed" (see attached screenshot 1) but in the section "Printer control", it mentions the status "Stopped" (see attached screenshot2 ).

Hi,

What is the hplip driver version installed in your system ?
Can you provide the hp-check command output.

Did you try upgrading evince application and check printing with upgraded version ?

Regards,
Goutam

Thanks for the reply.

I have hplip-3.15.9 installed on my system.

I tried upgrading to evince 3.18.2, which is the latest stable release but that didn't help.

The output of hp-check, executed as root, is attached.
