Bug Description
It would be nice if my computer would make noise to indicate when a job is done if that job is over a set period of time. Allowing the user to set the time elapsed to indicate if this would be worth having the tone/alert, making sure it doesn't go off every minute when I am doing something small. However, large batch jobs that I walk away from would be nice if I could hear when they and/are finished or held up by something that needs my attention.

I'm not comfortable with implementing this -- too much potential for
being annoying -- whichmeans it would have to be fairly selective when
it goes off and that makes it unreliable, since it would need to use
heuristics to guess when it is ok to tone and not to tone.
Note that calibre does use the system notiication daemon, to notify when
a background job is complete, where available, so you could perhaps use
a global setting to have notifications play a bell.
