Bug Description

This is a feature request to support NVLink for POWER8 processor and NVIDIA.

We're still in early hardware bring up at this stage, but thankfully the kernel patches are reasonably small. At this stage I'm hoping to get the first version of the patches posted to the mailing lists in the next couple of days meaning that they will hopefully get into 4.5.

Bug mirrored for Canonical awareness. A backport from 4.5 will be required once the patch is accepted.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1522415/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package.

The required patches were already accepted in Michael Ellerman's next Powerpc tree.

Given this commit is in linux-next, I presume it will also be included in the 4.5 merge ?

There are a couple of bug fixes which have just been posted to:

http://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/564543/
http://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/565653/
http://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/565654/

I expect these will be merged into Michael Ellerman's Powerpc tree soon.
