Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

I'm testing gutsy dvd amd64 20071010.2.

Open firefox. Select Help / Get Help Online.
Click on `the #ubuntu IRC channel'. This results in a prompt titled "External Protocol Request", which talks about `Application: purple-url-handler "%s"'.

When I say "Launch application" nothing happens. This is because purple-url-handler is in the package libpurple-bin (according to command-not-found) which is not installed.

I can reproduce this bug.

I think the problem could be solved by letting firefox and/or pidgin packages depend on libpurple-bin.

An even better solution would be integrating libpurple-bin in the ubufox plugin finder. The first time a user clicks on an IRC link the package
gets installed automatically, then the feature is available.

Cheers.
